A few years ago I found myself bedbound almost overnight. I spent weeks, even months in bed. Like so many who experience this, I resented it. I found no peace in it. The experience of becoming bedbound was extremely isolating, having had no one in my immediate surrounding that ever went through something like this. So I decided to create artwork about it. To show what life is like when you become ill, to process the experience of it myself and to share it with others who might be going through a similar thing.
So they could know they are not alone.
To find calm and peace, just like this painting reflects.
